During the rapidly changing 1920’s, America faced much social and economic change. Society began changing as the industry grew and free time increased as salaries did too. Religious beliefs came into conflict with the government. As new laws were passed, alcohol was banned, leading to an outburst in organized crime. Societal roles changed for women as they began to push for more economic freedom and social recognition as the Flapper was introduced. Consumerism revolutionized as new forms of marketing and buying credit were brought to society. Throughout the 1920’s, many changes can be seen in the daily lifestyle of a typical American.
